Cupernham Junior School – School Council Expectations
School Councillors agreed at their meeting that the following personal qualities are needed to be a school councillor, they are:
Reliable
Responsible
Friendly and approachable
Good at listening to everyone
Able to remember things
Honest and sensible
Hardworking
Good role models for learning
These are the things the School Council rep needs to do:
Attend meetings, turn up on time and be interested
Bring your School Council Book to the meeting
Look after the book and stick agendas and minutes inside
Listen to the views and opinions of the class and bring them to the meeting.
Report everyone’s ideas and opinions even if they are not your own
Bring ideas to the meeting that will make the school a better place to be
Feedback information to your class – ask your teacher for a time to do this
Wear your badge with pride so people know that you are the councillor
Collect the views of pupils from the playground
Present some assemblies with support from Mr Wells
Represent the school at local meetings
School Councillors need to be roles models to others regarding their learning behaviour:
Representing the school, at all times both in and out of class
Well behaved at all times
Hard working
Listening to everyone
Engaged in your learning – head down!
Modelling positive BLP
Happy, enjoying learning
Confident and taking risks
Tackle a challenge head on
