  • Ofstead Report

    Wed 08 Nov 2023

    Dear Parents and Carers,

I'm delighted to finally be able to share with you all our Ofsted report, which you can find attached in this communication. I'm sure you will agree that it reads well and details many of our successes and strengths. I am particularly pleased that the report recognises and acknowledges the attitudes, values and approaches to learning of our children; how staff take time and care in considering how to achieve the best for them; and, how the welcoming, nurturing and accepting culture of our school really comes across.

I'd like to take this moment to recognise and thank all of our staff for their dedication, hard-work and their ambition for all our children to thrive and succeed. I'd also like to thank you as well for your positive contribution to the inspection through the parent view survey and for speaking to the inspector across both days to share your experiences of our school.

We are all immensely proud of the report and our final outcome confirming that we are indeed a good school. This report and its findings now give us a platform from which we can continue to build the school we want, to further develop our curriculum and provide even greater opportunities for our children to be the very best they can be.

Thank you for your continued support,

    Mr Frost

  • School Closure 2nd November 2023

    Wed 01 Nov 2023

    Dear Parents and Carers,

You may already be aware that due to Storm Ciarán a major incident has been declared in Southampton and nearby coastal areas. This is therefore likely to affect a large number of our children and staff, and hinder the safety of their journeys to and from school.

This means that both Cupernham Junior and Infants Schools as well as other schools in the area will be closed on Thursday 2nd November for all children. Unless you hear otherwise, the school will be open as normal on Friday 3rd November.

As the forecast indicates that severe weather is due to calm after school hours (at around 4pm), the PTA fireworks event is still planning to go ahead. We are in consultation with the professional contractors to ensure it will be safe to continue.  Should this change, you will be notified as soon as possible.

We look forward to reopening safely to all children and staff on Friday.

Please keep yourselves safe during this time. Many thanks for your continued support and understanding in making this decision.

    Kind regards,

    Mr Frost and Mr Wells

  • Change of swimming for W.B 3rd July

    Fri 30 Jun 2023

As transition is taking place next week, and with Romsey and Mountbatten Schools now having different transition days, we wanted to make sure that all children were able to have one longer swim session, rather than some year groups possibly being affected as this would not be fair. The days for swimming for next week only are as follows:

    Monday - Year 4

    Tuesday - Year 5

Wednesday - Year 6 (Romsey children)

Thursday - Year 6 (Mountbatten children)

    Friday - Year 3

The few children who are not attending Romsey or Mountbatten are invited to swim on both days.
